Commission Bids

If you can cannot attend the auction you may choose to leave a written bid, also called an absentee bid.

We suggest you attend the viewing prior to auction to inspect the item/s you wish to purchase.

You will need to register [complete a buyer’s card] with us and supply us with FICA documentation, whereafter Alf Duncan Auctioneers will try to secure the lot/s for you at the lowest price possible. It is for this reason that you must offer your maximum bid that you are prepared to pay in order to avoid disappointment. For example if your commission bid is R2000 [we may not exceed this amount], the item may be knocked down at R2050, and unfortunately you would lose the lot for R50. Please also remember that your bid amount offered excludes the 15% buyer’s premium. For example if your bid is R1000, and you are successful you must pay R1150-

Phone Bids

As per the above you would also be required to view, register etc. We only accept phone bids on item/s with a floor estimate of above R1000-00, therefore bids of lower than R1000- will only be accepted in the form of a commission bid.
